When you try to install or load a font while a similar font is already active, you will see a message that the operation failed. With the smart feature activated, MainType first tries to uninstall/ unload the active font and then tries to install/ load the font you want to activate. When you try to uninstall or unload a font while the smart setting is enabled, MainType will uninstall/ unload the active font. Use these settings with great care. In case you accidentally uninstalled a font, you might want to check the Backup folder (View -> Browse -> Backup Folder).
