Scanahand Premium Edition incorporates all features available in the Standard Edition and also includes several additional features.

Scanahand is designed for speed and simplicity. With a printer and a scanner (and a suitable pen) you'll be able to create your first font in minutes. But you can even create fonts without a printer or scanner.

You can save an empty template and then use your image editing software to draw each character. Load it back into Scanahand to generate your font. You can also save a scanned template page, make changes, and then reload it.

The English template fits on a single page, and contains the space character, as well as the following 106 characters:

The Western European template covers the following languages:
English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Spanish, Portuguese, Basque, Estonian, Faeroese, Frisian, Irish, Galician, Hungarian, Icelandic, Albanian, and Esperanto.
The template consist of two pages, the first page is equal to the English template, the second page contains 110 additional (mostly accented) characters:

The symbol template allows you create fonts especially meant to include dingbats and other symbols. With room for 221 symbols, this four page template is the perfect solution to make fonts based on drawings of your pets, cartoons, signatures, logos, etc.

Scanahand allows you to make your own templates. For each template you can define your own character set (for example with Czech or Greek characters), so it allows you to create multilingual fonts. The template editor is available in both editions, but you need the premium edition in order to generate a font based on a custom template.
