The Pen Tool draws Bézier outlines point by point. Click to add an on-curve point with no handles; click and drag to add a point whose handles follow the direction and length of the drag.

Constraining the Next Point

Hold Shift while placing the next point to constrain its position to a 45° angle relative to the previous point. Useful for clean horizontal, vertical, or diagonal segments without snapping to a grid.

Closing the Path

Click the path's first point to close the contour. The pen tool then starts a new contour on the next click.
