If you’re switching from a competing font editor (e.g., FontLab, Glyphs, or RoboFont) or font manager (e.g., Suitcase), you may qualify for a crossgrade offer. Please contact our sales department and include the name and version of the product you currently use.

Upgrade Protection (MainType and Scanahand)

If you purchase a perpetual license for MainType or Scanahand within six months before a new major release, the new major version is included with your purchase at no additional charge. Outside that window, the upgrade-pricing options on the upgrades page apply.

Your perpetual license remains valid for the major version you originally purchased, including free patches, fixes, and minor updates within that version.

License Restrictions

A single-user license may be used by one person and activated on up to two devices (for example, a desktop and a laptop). If purchased by an organization, the license must be assigned to one named user.

Upgrades (MainType and Scanahand)

Upgrade to a more advanced edition at any time. The upgrade price equals the difference between the editions. See the upgrades page for details. FontCreator does not have upgrade pricing. It is a single subscription that always includes the latest version.
